Improves RU through locally-led equitable partnerships
The project applies a systems approach to facilitate uptake of research knowledge, shifting culture and practice for equitable partnerships throughout the research cycle. The research utilization (RU) strategy focuses on four functions: complexity awareness, collaboration, capacity, and communication, to ensure new evidence impacts practice and policy. We will explore the role of agency and power in RU, develop and test strategies to improve RU and foster equitable researcher-implementer-donor partnerships. For effective RU, local program implementers and policy makers must have agency – the power and ability to guide research priorities, access knowledge and apply learning.
