As one of the largest USAID missions in Africa, Ethiopia has made substantial investments in social and behavior change (SBC) programming. In 2022, USAID/Ethiopia requested an assessment of both standalone SBC initiatives and integrated projects with SBC components conducted in conjunction with other interventions undertaken between 2015-2021. Findings from the Health Extension Program and this current assessment are designed to inform USAID/Ethiopia’s upcoming work in SBC and assist in shaping theoretical, methodological and implementation science-informed assessment approaches, reflecting the current thinking on SBC.
